The things I've said...

In the past few days, I have to chuckle at what has come out of my mouth...

"don't run with those scissors"

"quick choking your baby brother"

"stop or you'll break your neck"

"don't poke your fork in your eye"

and the list could go on...ahhhh the life with boys. Another funny story - Joseph has been loving school. The last two pictures he brought home (there is always a bible verse, and then a picture he has drawn along with what he told the teacher it was)...well, his pictures have been sort of disturbing to say the least. Yesterday it was a picture of a dead man...I was upset thinking I'd somehow ruined my son with something I had done. I was used to hannah who drew rainbows and butterflies. Long story short, I emailed the teacher and come to find out, the sheets are for after a story to see what the children retain. These are stories from the Bible, and yesterdays story was the story of Moses. I guess the girls drew pictures of Moses as a baby, and the boys tended to draw the "dead man" if he was caught. SOOOOO - this time it wasn't my mothering skills, but the Bible! Whew - I feel better : )

Hannah had a sleepover at a friends house this past weekend. I saw these paper backpacks online and just had to try them. We decided to make them for the girls at the sleepover and put candy necklaces/bracelets inside. They are the cutest things I've seen in a long time. LOVE EM! The Weekend's Over...

It's Sunday night (granted, still some hours left to created), and I have to say it's been pretty productive. I've gotten a lot of new goodies to play with so I'm excited to get to those tonight.

But first I thought I'd show you the two new tote bags I made with some beautiful material! My "aunt-in-law" had asked me to make her a tote, so the first one is being sent to her in the morning. It's using the Posh by Chez Moi material by Moda. Love it!!!

The second one is also some beautiful material, and is up for grabs if anyone wants one! The material is Shangri La by Moda as well. I keep forgetting that Christmas is around the corner so keep that in mind too! This is one of my favorite bags. It's great for toting just about anything (I have mine in the car with my "carpool" project. I'm sewing on a halloween table runner while waiting in the carpool lane!).

I'll have lots to show this week!!!

A Bella Friday

I made these cards a couple weeks ago for a bella challenge on Jen Del Muro's blog (www.iheart2stamp.com). I didn't quite get it to look like what I imagined in my head, but I love Bellas! I went to their site today and there are some that I must have (www.stampingbella.com). If only money grew on trees...and lately I feel like I just need some more time - so many projects, so little time. I did finally use some of the in colors from Stampin Up on these cards as well. It was fun - and love love love this image!

My hubby is gone until Sunday - his tough life has led him to Notre Dame for a football game. When we lived there, I couldn't wait to get away - granted, he went to school (a beautiful school)...and I had to work in South Bend...so the experience was different. But I would lOVE to be there now. Sometimes I get resentful that he can go off and have fun without "worrying about the kids" while I stay at home with them. I wouldn't change it for the world, but I'd like to go - or I'd like to lock myself in my craft room for four days by myself!!! Oh well - yet another difference between man and woman.

A Christmas Scrapbook To Share

I was looking through my well organized Creative Memories photo box and realized HOW FAR BEHIND I am in my scrapbooks. I don't even want to write it down here as that will scare me! Can I just say that I'm so happy with the new products CM keeps coming out with - they're really staying on top of the trends. And thank God for their power palette systems - I'm in love with them...and they're perfect for anyone - from the new scrapbooker, to those like me - those that have been doing it for years! Here's a smaller 8x8 Christmas scrapbook I made with one of those power palettes. I had the album done in just over an hour...and it's beautiful. I want to make one for all my friends for Christmas. The color is a lovely ice blue - perfect to have out on the coffee table for the holidays. These make great gifts for anyone! If you're interested, let me know! I've shown just a few of the pages...and no, these are not my ideas, but all part of the power palette "idea sheet." LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Not a lot going on here. I did visit a "new to me" quilt store and had some fun looking at all the material...and my friend is home from her vacation and brought me some goodies (in the form of paper!!!) that I can't wait to play with!

This day and age...

I'm not saying this as necessarily a good thing, but our internet went down on Tuesday so I have been without email for two days. It's sad to think that everything is communicated by email nowadays...schools, soccer. I was almost "crippled" by that! But I'm back.

I had an order for some Riley cards and I'll share a couple of those here. LOVE EM! I used some of Splitcoasts Sketch Challenges. I used the Super Riley (Hanna stamps) and the Cupcake Riley. LOVE EM!

Another Monday

OK - so I'm starting my week with a better attitude. Not so much an attitude, but a "resolution" to kick up my exercise and eating healthy, being more patient, and just being a better mom. It's supposed to be a beautiful week weather wise so let's see how it all goes!

I love this set from Stampin Up - it's so subtle but beautiful. I think it's "fresh cuts" - I'm too lazy to go look for certain. I used a color challenge of Red, Kraft, and Black and I saw a similar idea somewhere. It turned out simply elegant!

I had an "order" for some different Riley cards so I did a lot of Riley stuff this weekend - lots of super cute stuff to show you there so check back tomorrow for the first few samples!

Yikes! Ike!

I'm hoping the coming of hurricane Ike is being "overhyped" some - but I guess we'll find out in a few more hours. I have friends in the Houston area and they're saying wind, rain, and tornados (tropical depression of Ike) here in DFW. I'm still hoping it will blow our fence down (I'm wanting a new fence!!!). My daughter's soccer game has already been canceled for tomorrow - like I said, I hope people are making more out of this but keep everyone in your prayers that they are safe in whatever type of storm we have!

As promised, here are some cards I made using the new Flight of the Butterfly set from Stampin Up. The funny part is, I bought this set because of the wonderful sayings and haven't used them yet (at least on the outside!). I made each just a little different as I was trying to tweak it to fit the image in my mind. But in the end, I liked them all!

Another Quiet Moment

Well, it's already evening and wow - what a day! This school thing is tiring me out! I had two different meetings...and then my husband worked from home - that always puts a cramp in my routine! The meeting this evening was about my kindergartener's curriculum. It was interesting and reassuring! How exciting!

And tomorrow...in honor of Ike hitting north Texas, let's see some butterflies (it's sarcasm, since it's been raining for two days now, and we're supposed to get Ike and rain and 60 mph winds this weekend).

At last...a card to share!

As promised last night - I'm back (hopefully consistently now!), with a card to share. I bought the set "Quiet Moments" from Treehouse Stamps. To be honest, I'd never really heard of them and happened upon them. This is a set that I literally saw and bought instantly (very few stamps have I done that!). I used a few different ideas from their gallery, along with some sketches, and I love how this guy turned out. It's been awhile since I've colored with my copics, so it was fun getting back into that. I like how it turned out! I'll post another card with this set tomorrow (the little gal)! and a close-up of the coloring!

Not much going on here in my crazy life! I'm supposed to get my hair done at noon but I'm going to skip it - how sad is this...my reasons for not getting my hair done are 1)I'd rather the boys got a nap and I got some free time and 2) there are so many things out there that I want to buy rather than another hair cut. SAD!!! What have I become : )

And last but not least

OK - so I'm STILL getting back into the swing of things and getting back to my blog. I thought my schedule would lighten a little, but it seems busier than ever. And do you notice how every day they're asking for money for something or other? As if the tuition and other "fees" aren't enough!

Anyways - I have gotten a few fun cards made but I'll show them later this week! I figured I'd finish up with my sewing "show and tells" with my bigger "posie" quilt. All the flowers are appliqued - my first big applique project! Thanks for talking me into this one Gretchen! I tied the quilt, and it looks awesome! It's going to an auction in October so if you're dying for this quilt, let me know now! The second quilt is one I made my parents for Christmas. I love the colors, and the piano key border. I made them promise they'd use it on their bed - but of course, it isn't being used, but rather displayed! I guess I must admit that I would probably do the same!

Anyways, check back and I'll get back to trying to post almost daily! And next time - as promised...some cards finally!!!
